Congressman Alcee L. Hastings (D-FL) made the following statement in honor of Mrs. Yvette DuBose for winning this year’s Angels in Adoption Award. Hastings nominated Ms. DuBose for the award, which is given annually by the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute’s (CCAI) Angels in Adoption Program:

“I was so very proud to nominate Yvette DuBose for the 2019 Angels in Adoption Award and am overjoyed to see her selected as an honoree. As the CEO and Executive Director of the Heart Gallery of Broward County and as a Board Member not only for the Heart Gallery of Florida, but also the Children Families Leadership Association, her tireless dedication to child welfare has earned her the admiration of so many, including myself. Yvette’s leadership at the Heart Gallery has led to more than 350 adoptions of foster children to their forever families, changing the course of their lives.

"Yvette’s advocacy for child welfare and commitment as a caring foster parent has made her a hero, not only to the children she and her husband have welcomed into their home, but to our community as a whole. I commend her for truly exemplifying the values of the Angels in Adoption program and wish her the best as she continues her vital work to ensure a safe and loving home for every child in need.”
